Is Artificial Intelligence becoming more powerful than Emotional Intelligence?

“How can we stay relevant in a world that we are creating, where technological evolution overtakes human evolution ?” Nita asked a group of bright young college graduates.

A funnily scary thing crossed my mind, that AI (Artificial Intelligence) is becoming more powerful than EI (Emotional Intelligence) !

While most of the graduates gravitated towards up-skilling, up-skilling, and upskilling, I wondered if the answer to such a complex and layered question be so simple?

Technological evolution has given us some amazing solutions to problems across varied fields in medicine, infrastructure, ecology, finance, education! … and it has also given us dramatic distraction & incomprehensible dependency… we love our gadgets and use people…. shouldn’t it be the other way around ?

Sharing my thoughts on the topic, in the hope of igniting some new perspectives in your minds…

• Re-charge yourself: Just like you re-charge your phone every day, what are you doing to re-charge yourself ? Holistic development is to build yourself at multiple levels — spiritual, emotional, mental and physical. I strongly encourage you to find your daily 20-minute re-charge, that gives you the power to be and perform at your highest level.
• Unified strength: History speaks of the power of individuals who came together towards a common mission (maybe mission sounds too big, so let’s stay with a common goal)… what are today’s greatest challenges and what choice are you making in shaping the solution — are you part of it in some small way?
• Humanity has become a small word: I think human evolution will be shaped by how we continue to define humanity….do you think compassion, gratitude, courage, humility, leadership & passion will still be some of the defining characteristics?
